'68 NHRA Springnationals in Englishtown NJ, Sox & Martin Plymouth 67 Hemi GTX in SS/D takes on Bob Lambeck in Landy's 68 Dodge Dart SS/EA with 440 wedge power. These two Chrysler sponsored teams met many times during class run-offs and eliminations.

This is where the Sox & Martin 'multiple car confusion' sets in.

At the 1968 NHRA Springnationals, the Sox & Martin GTX #780,
is the 1967 GTX Street-Hemi, which ran in SS/D.

This car won the Super Stock Eliminator,,,,by defeating Don Grotheer,
who ran the Cable Chrysler-Plymouth SS/B Hemi Barracuda.

Amazingly, the Sox & Martin #780 GTX Street-Hemi did not even win the SS/D Class Championship.

The 440 GTX cars in SS/F in 1968.

On 69' 440 Cuda's and 68'/69' 440 Darts,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,'TWO'

a 69' 440 Cuda out of northern New Jersey,,,,
and an original 68' Factory-built 440 Dart out of Rockville Center Dodge.

Both were 'original' 440 cars.

I've heard, that Ed Miller and Skip Guenther ran a 69' 440 Cuda in
SS/GA in 1969,,,,,,,,,,,,,
but have never seen any photo's of the car.

This is a 1969 Dart 'Swinger 340', and ran in F/Stock in 1969.
