M68,,,, Wow,, its been so long since I read this thread,,I had to go back and look at what I was referring to. Since I was responding to Paul's posting of early '70 Hemi dominance of Pro Stock, I should've referred to Jenkin's Camaro as simply big block powered, and not mentioned the cubic inches, as the size of the Hemis were not discussed, and some of those were destroked, but possibly not at that time.
I do remember the stories about Jenkin's Can-Am based powerplants, but I was thinking they were a later exercise, in his '69 car. My "Grumpy's Toys" book is on loan, so I can't check how dried up my brain cells are getting. The '70s were my favorite era of Pro Stock,,, the cars still looked like they were supposed to, and ran like nothing we'd ever seen.

Danny, I'm 99% sure this photo is from early 1972. Though the front wheels look like Centerlines, they are not. Bob Lambeck had a Plymouth Duster by 1973.

M68,,, If those wheels aren't Centerlines,, then I'd like to know what they are, since I see a whole lot of rivets as opposed to the fewer bolts that Cragar used on the Super Tricks.
Looking at posting # 56, in the middle picture, of Bob Lambeck's Cuda launching, the front wheels, to my old eyeballs, look like the Cragars, whereas the wheels on the Dart have a different appearance to me, and I'm not referring the chrome center caps.
Take care,,,, Danny Durham

Danny, I think your right...I remember seeing those wheels when they came out new...but it's been so long since I've seen a set like those that it's hard to tell whether they were Cragars or Centerlines...
but I see rivets or are they bolts.

Here's a few more pics of Bob Lambeck's '68 Hemi Barracuda...did Bob also run a W2 small block, because I always thought he ran big blocks.

Supertricks always had a multi-bolt pattern while the Centerlines came in the individual bolt patterns....if I'm not mistaken. Also, Supertricks had a flatter finish while Centerlines were turned aluminum and were shinier.

And that's how I remember it....at my age , who knows.

Well here's one of Bill 'Grumpy' Jenkins and his Pro Stock Camaro, since a few of you were talking about it earlier...lets here some more old stories on him just to mix it up a bit.

Yes the topic title is...Life after Super Stock for the Hemi A-bodies...well they raced against some Brand X cars back then...just thought someone here might remember a few old stories of some of those match races from back then if that's okay with you...here's a report from the '70 Winternationals.
