Re: Impact Racing
I called Impact this week and was told that if I had a jacket or pants ect. that was dated before 1-1-09 I could send proof of purchase or the product back and receive a 50% off credit towards a new jacket, pants or whatever. Now I'm assuming that if you have belts dated before 1-1-09 and send them back you will receive a 50% coupon or half price belts. Was also told that if your product has a newer date than 1-1-09 you are ok. I have not seen any official notice from NHRA or IHRA reguarding Impact and assume they are still on the midway selling stuff. If something was posted I missed it.

Re: Impact Racing
Pretty simple....as of June 22, 2010 there will not be a relationship between SFI and Impact Racing. SFI will not test nor certify any Impact Racing product.

Re: Impact Racing
I also have 3.2a5 jacket and pants that were purchased in March of 09 that have no dates. I just got off the phone with Impact and was told that they were not required to put dates on 3.2a5 stuff because it did not expire like the 15 stuff. They also assured me that the threads used on my stuff was not plastic, unless it was a suit used for cart racing! After June 22, 2010 Impact will no longer be able to sell anything with a SFI certification. The guy on the phone was not sure if the 09-10 stuff that is still good now will be good after June 22, 2010. I was told that if I sent my jacket and pants to them that they would write the date of manufacture on the blank tag that is already there with a black Sharpie. I imagine there are a lot of people not happy trying to tech in this morning at the divisional races!

Re: Impact Racing
Also the lady on the phone at Impact told me that they were at Indy on the midway right now and that NHRA tech was rejecting all of there stuff, including the 09-10 3.2a5 jackets and pants. Can anyone confirm this? Someone in Dallas at the div.4 race said that if the tags were written with a black Sharpie they were no good?

Re: Impact Racing
In Div 4 we were told that if the item did not have a permanent "date of mfg." on the SFI label it was no good. Even a sales receipt could not verify the receipt was specifically for that product. At the Houston National event Impact replaced my gloves with new ones, wrote me a receipt fir them and wrote on the gloves "April/2010" with a sharpie. What a bunch of crap. My belts went through tech OK. They are dated 3-2009.

Re: Impact Racing
Wouldn't it be nice if NHRA posted their position on Impact instead of us waiting to go to a race to find out!

Re: Impact Racing
I am at indy. In tech the official had me initial where the brand type safety equipment belts suit helmet was. I asked him why. He said it is to confirm that these are the ones that will be used at this race. This is due to the impact problem. If you tech with stuff and change out after tech, it would be a problem.(If it was impact stuff you changed to)
