Re: PINKS...Here's Our Chance.....
Jeff, With an all run format and a CIC so long as pairings are even that would be worth it. Then you showcase our Classes and we all have a chance to win. However from what has been explained, this is not what they are looking for. They still want a 32 car field that they select. With that in mind there is very little logic to support teaching people about what we do. B. How would you compare running CLASS at a National to PINKS? Even if you do I still have a better chance at taking home more money than I started with running CLASS because I already know I am IN the show. Gary you have continuously stated that this POA deal is a way to bring more people to be interested in Stock and Superstock. It has been you argument since you started this thread. Now you are saying you don't want to change the way we run but everything about the current PINKS format is different. Make up your mind man.

Re: PINKS...Here's Our Chance.....
I would feel that Rich and company would listen to some of our requirements and we could run cars for the first 30 minutes of airtime until we have 32 and make that the show for the last 30 minutes. Just like what they are doing now only difference they dont pick the 32. I wouldn't think that would be a make or break deal with Rich. We wont know until we ask. I original thought about Pinks was having a Hemi shootout to get people to watch. Then go to class style event.

Second, if Bruton Smith was going to offer a CIC program, where the hell was he a month, year or 2 years ago? Stepping into this thread with a sudden Zmax program wasn't going about it the right way, only attempt to sabotage mine. This debate is becoming a waste of time. Please, if you're so adamant about ripping this idea apart, why not ignore it and move on, or take it to James Perrone since he apparently has all the answers to a perfect program. |

Re: PINKS...Here's Our Chance.....
Also with the Bruton Smith comment. He has offered several times that I know of to hold a S/SS combo winner take all race. However, people like you and other NHRA bashers have whinned that if you can't win any money in the quarters, semi's, or runner up then they didn't want to race.

Re: PINKS...Here's Our Chance.....
I don't want to speak out of turn but this probably could be debated for ever. But I do think a pole would tell who is interested and who isn't. I'm sure this event isn't for everybody but some people would love to participate in something like this. I know I'll be there. I'm also interested in increasing interest and exitment in Stock and Super Stock. Heck we even love to participate in Top Stock too. Since Don Garlits is running stock maybe he would like to go. Anything to promote these cars is OK by me. I don't think anyone wants to change the way things are. Just improve them and show everybody that doesn't know about these cars how cool Stock and Super stock really is.

Re: PINKS...Here's Our Chance.....
Instead of bashing an idea let's try it. I am going to a combo race this weekend. It doesn't pay crap, nobody cares how much I spent on my ride, and they don't understand the index system, but It sure is fun! Anyone care to support this S/SS combo ant speedworld?
Any place to race is a good place. Except maybe Bakersfield?? Lead on Gary! |
Re: PINKS...Here's Our Chance.....
Why waste time running a "scienced out" class car engine against bullet proof bracket motors ????
Put a cheaper BRACKET motor in it and head for PINKS......IF.....IF you can get an entry that is.........:-) |
