Division 4 claimed the JEGS Allstars championship

Division 4 claimed the JEGS Allstars championship for the second consecutive year. Drivers from Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Arkansas make up the South Central Division and battled for the top spot against main competitors of Divisions 1, 2, and 3. Division 4 won four class titles this year (Stock, Super Street, Super Comp, and Top Dragster) to earn the Allstars title at Route 66 Dragway in Chicago, Illinois.

Comp:

Frank Aragona captured the win in the Comp Eliminator final against Doug Doll. While both drivers had identical reaction times (.025), Aragona was farther under his adjusted index, allowing him to get to the finish line first and take the win.

Super Stock:

Jeff Dona in his ’98 Firebird took out Aaron Stanfield in his ’87 Camaro in a double breakout final. Although Stanfield cut a perfect light, he was slightly farther under his dial than Dona.

Stock:

In a Factory Stock final, Jeff Lopez in his ’14 Camaro took out Jeff Hairrington in his ’14 Mustang. Lopez was better on the tree with a .019 light to Hairrington’s .041, which was enough for Lopez to catch Hairrington and take the stripe.

Super Comp:

Christopher Dodd took out Ray Miller in the Super Comp Allstars final. Dodd had a tough package to beat with a .008 light on an 8.908 pass.

Super Gas:

John Labbous Jr. captured the Super Gas Allstar title against Iggy Boicesco. With a double breakout final, Boicesco was a little farther under the index, thus, turning the win over to Labbous.

Top Sportsman:

Kynon Dinkel took home the Top Sportsman win in his ’04 Cavalier against Lester Johnson. Both had seemingly close reaction times (.036 to .030, respectively); however, Dinkel was closer to his dial in a double breakout final.

Top Dragster:

Darian Boesch took out Ed Olpin in a holeshot win. Boesch was slightly better on the tree with a .015 light, giving him enough room to take stripe.
