Andy Friar’s 1969 Chevelle 300 Deluxe Build

Rear View, Driver Side, 9-13-13Andy started this build back in late 2013 and has come along away with his ’69 Chevelle 300. “We are just starting the build on our Chevelle and I wanted to share because I am over the moon excited about it”. How cool is that, so much excitement for a car that was original race by a good friend of Andy’s dad, Jim Endicott’s. Jim was the I/S record holder in the 70’s and raced it from ’72-’78. When Jim passed away, Andy purchased the car from Jim’s wife back in 1994.

Andy’s plans is to get the Chevelle back into the Stock eliminator ranks with a complete body off race build. Follow Andy’s build on his Class Racer Build thread. Its a great read as you follow along with Andy’s build, from start to hitting the race track. The car has a great history, so tune in and follow the Friar family build.

I helped build that car in the 70’s as a young man. I was Jim’s pit crew and confidant/whipping boy. Glad to see the car again.
