Moser Engineering backed Cummings Motorsports Team Preparing for Atlanta and Topeka

Three AmigosThe Moser Engineering backed Cummings Motorsports team is packing up shop and hitting the road for back-to-back NHRA Mello Yello Series events. The multi-car team, based in Hammond, LA will compete in Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, and Super Street at the upcoming NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Southern Nationals near Atlanta, Georgia on May 15-17 and again the following weekend at the NHRA Kansas Nationals in Topeka, KS.

“Back-to-back weekends certainly create some logistical hurdles, but this will be a fun trip,” explained Britt Cummings. “We’ve had success in Atlanta and Topeka in the past, and we look forward to seeing some old friends, representing Moser Engineering and our associate marketing partners, and hopefully turning on some win lights.”

Last month, the Cummings team was able to enjoy back-to-back weekends of competition within their home division, with an appearance at the Division 4 LODRS event at the Texas Motorplex near Dallas, followed by the NHRA O’Reilly Auto Parts Spring Nationals near Houston. In Dallas, the team endured a disappointing outing, highlighted by third round appearances in Super Stock by family patriarch Larry Cummings and in Stock by Britt Cummings. In Houston, results improved slightly, as Britt drove the team’s Moser Engineering Corvette to a class victory in D/SA. But in final eliminations, the team suffered a rare strikeout, failing to advance past the second round of competition.

“Every season has its ups and downs,” explained Cummings. “My brother Slate has been carrying our team for years; he’s a great racer. He didn’t see a win light in Dallas or Houston. 0-4. That doesn’t happen very often, and I expect the record to balance out – for all of us – as the season progresses.” The Cummings Motorsports team houses 8 competition vehicles driven by Larry, Britt, and Slate Cummings as well as teammate Jody “Cool” Simoneaux. In addition to major marketing partner Moser Engineering.
