Could this be the new Pro Stock ?

Inside sources tell Class Racer Magazine that NHRA and the big three have had meetings about the future of Pro Stock. Could we be seeing a new era for Pro Stock, perhaps. Pro Stock is loosing market share and it is getting tough to get a full fields at some events. Could the next Pro Stock come from the Factory Showdown cars. Its gaining traction in the pits with most sportsman racers, and many of the big three factory performance reps.

    Race on Sunday,Sell on Monday!!!!

  2. Bryan Chappell says:

Pro Stock is yesterdays news……Wheels in the air Super/Stockers are what people want to see and in turn fill the stands. With the new retro big 3 cars now available, its time to ‘have at it’

  3. Patrik says:

I really like the sound of the Pro Stock cars, but that’s pretty much it, so I say keep the high rev 500 cui BB engines and the 5 speed transmissions. In fact, the only thing I think they should change is the look of the cars, because they all look exactly the same now. Would be so cool if they closely resembled the factory stock muscle cars. NASCAR did it with the gen 6 cars back in 2013, it’s NHRA’s turn now!

  4. Larry says:

IHRA was ahead of the times a couple of years ago with the ‘heads up’ top stock class! it was a cool class! Needed some tweeking instead of cancelling.

  5. John says:

I remember very well, when Pro Stock was a real class, at National Trail Raceway during the Spring Nationals, spectators would fill the bleachers and be five deep on both fences clear to the 1000 ft. Now, after the fuel cars finish, people go get a hot dog. The current factory hot rods would be a solid platform for Pro Stock.

  6. Chris says:

Please make it so, current Pro Stock is far removed from where it started get back to
real racing in real cars not under powered Pro Mods.

  7. Doug Iuliano says:

Would be much more realistic as to what cars look like today and each with its own newer engine combos. It would be so much more refreshing to watch.

  8. Ray says:

Would make it worth watching again, you would probably get 50 cars to compete

  9. Dan Fagey says:

There will be a lot of participation. And of course the parity issues. Preventing one make too dominate too long.

Pro Stock started out as the ultimate Super Stock car. There isn’t one OEM part on those cars now.Not even so much as a tail light lens. This change cann’t happen soon enough.

  11. Mark says:

I hope they work this out, nothing better then wheels in the air launches made by cars that spectators can relate to!

  12. Cashman says:

God I hope so. I like pro stock but I Love heads up stock or super stock cars.Seems like a no brainier.
