318 2bbl and INTAKE
NHRA lists for the '71 318 an intake # of 2951185 and 3698437. Have these #'s been superceded or any other intakes available? Also they list Carter4958s as the 2bbl carb. Can any Carter 2bbl be substitutes as long as the throttle bores are the same? Thanks

I would think any superseded manifolds would be listed in the guide. If it isn't there you can't use it.
Don't know about the carbs.

Re: 318 2bbl and INTAKE
This combo is proving to be a real pain in the *** lol. I've been at it for over a year and finding info or parts can be a challenge.. Best piece of advice I can give you is get a bunch of carbs because your going to need spare parts and every carb is a different animal. I'm on my 5th carb

Re: 318 2bbl and INTAKE
If your interested, I think I have one of the intakes. I am traveling for work and can't confirm till next week, but I had purchased two different manifolds for my 70 swinger several years ago when I was considering running the 318 combo. One pn is the same as the 71. what is interesting is, one is a dual plane and one is a single plane intake. Don't know which would be best, but I can let you know what I have next weekend.
