Opinions on stocker 30x9 radial slicks

I would like to get some opinions/experiences on which mfg's radials hook best, recover if spin, and last the longest. My experience is with M/T 30x9 radial, lasted 56 runs, after that the car left like it ws still in the water box.

My Hoosier lightweight 30"x9" radials have been consistent untill the holes were about gone.
I have spun on a few occasions, but it's been due to varying track conditions/prep.
One of these days I'll get around to counting the runs!

I get 70 -80 runs out of the Hoosier Light weights C06 on my Duster. A lot depends on the car, how well it works, weight and how fast it is. Put this same tire on a big block Camaro and it may work for 50-60 runs. Go easy on the burnout, it doesn't take much to make then hook.

Hows the track, they're not going to work on street night at you local track. Radial slicks require some what of a decent starting line. All part of the design that makes them a tenth faster than bias slicks.

I have a 3350lb NSS car that will run 10.40's on the radials and 10.50-60's on bias. The track prep is usually pretty good. the radials didn't spin until they went away. I was looking to see how the hoosiers and goodyears compare in longevity and recovery, I can get 250+ runs out of a bias slick, but I need the tenth that the radials deliver.

Hoosier makes a 10.5x30 inch radial, if you can use that size tire. I use these on my Super Stocker and they work great! I have used both and the Hoosiers last longer.

I've been running the Hoosier 9" radials for about 8-10 years and love 'em.

It's not the tire, in my opinion.

I run the 30x9 M/T (#3066R). I get 112-115 runs out of them (although the last set was at 117 when I took them off, and still didn't have the chords showing, and had my best 60' on the last run of a 4-day weekend, winning 3 out of 4 races). I've been 1.40 on chords, although when you get to the chords, they're going to be hit n' miss.

A lot of Stocker guys run 21+ psi of air in the radials. I run them full time, even bracket racing, and use 17-18psi. At that point, the only time they'll ever spin is if there is physically something on the track, or the chords are hanging out. My car's not even scienced-out in terms of the chassis... I've got stock shocks all the way around, SS leaf springs and a pinion snubber. Car weighs 3330-3440 w/ driver, depending on what class I run it in.

It is essential that your rocker panels be free of any sand or debris. You'd be amazed at how many people overlook this and spin in their own trash pouring out of the wheel well, and blame it on the tire or the track.

I ran 20-22lbs in the m/t, the cords were showing after 56 runs. I don't do a killer burnout but in looking back probably too much for the m/t radials. I try to take care of the tires, as I said I can get well over 200 runs on a 10.5 bias m/t. The 9" radial was over a tenth quicker, which is what I'm looking for.

My Nova is much like a stocker, I just purchased some new Aluma stars all the way around. Am I correct in the fact that I will not have to drill them for rim screws if I switch to Radial slicks?

No -screws or anything else, just mount them and go racing... Hope your rims are one piece or you might need some silicone.... LOL
