Gary, I did it when I ran the AMC engines and also when I ran small Big Blocks.
I used the large Bill Mitchell stop on the linkage .
Dedenbear offers one that is comparable ,since the Mitchell is no longer available.
I was slowing the car down from 8.50's to 9.90, altho I did dabble in S/ST a few times.
My combination was always 3-4 mph faster with the TR.
Jimmy DiCiccacio did it for years in SC with Comp Elim style SBC's with 2 Dedenbear baseplate stops, and was deadly consistant.

A good friend of mine and legend Steve Call ran one on a BBC in S/C his theory was that since he had 8 Venturi instead of 4 that the motor would be less sensitive to air density changes and therefore be more consistent.
Which makes sense to me.
In my experience most guys pick up MPH when they switch to a tunnel ram it simply a better design if you get into resonance tuning theory.

i ran one back in early 2000's in super street.. 505 bbc tunnel ram on alcohol with two dedenbear blade stops , wide open the car would run 8.90's @ 151 and on the stops it would run 10.90 @ 145-146 depending on which track i was at. it was consistent.
