Default Mineshaft facts

All mineshaft does is protect the fast combo’s. Mineshaft is not determined by the weather it is only considered mineshaft when at the conclusion of qualifying the first competitor in the bottom half of the field is -.850 seconds or faster under the class index. To prove the point is Indy the weather sucks that time of year with high temperature, humidity and low barometric pressure. If we used Indy as the rule for mineshaft then almost all the race would be considered mineshaft.
The AHFS will not work affectively with the mine shaft rule in affect. Let’s talk about the AHFS real quick. All it does is try and keep the fast combo’s all at 1 second under. If you get horsepower you get weight and only slow down a little bit and probably still can run 1 under. If you get hit several times you are now a high 90 under combo. The AHFS doesn’t destroy combo’s if running high 90 under is considered destroyed?
For the people that are complaining about not being able to run their car all out, then go to your local track for a bracket race and you can run as fast as you want without getting HP.
I think the mineshaft rule should be removed.
If NHRA were to take a vote on removing the mineshaft rule it would be gone because it only affects the fast combo’s and there are way more slow combo’s then fast ones. No brainer.
Here are some facts on how many runs were affected by the mineshaft rule.

10% of the races were mineshaft
7 out 65 races were Mineshaft
54% of all 1 second under runs were mineshaft
238 mineshaft runs out of the 435 1 second under runs
How many combo’s will not get review because of mineshaft I do not know?

So how is the AHFS supposed to work if half the runs don’t count towards it?

I don't understand your thought process here. Do you consider yours one of the slow combinations?

I've seen where you have made some pretty fast runs in the past (1.10). I also see where your combination had a reduction at some point.

Where does your combination sit in your master plan?

Yep, if there were no rules we all would be .90 racing or bracket racing and it just wouldn't be as satisfying. Even though my car is still not finished (getting close) I get a lot of enjoyment out of building a car that I hope can get to 1 under. I previously built a super street car and then a super gas car, not too much worry about when building the car, just build it fast and slow it down with a stop. For my new stock eliminator car I've tried to consider the performance aspect of every decision and every nut and bolt on the car.

Larry,
Here in the South??
North and South Confederacy style:
The Confederacy included the states of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. Jefferson Davis was their President. Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, Kentucky and Missouri were called Border States.
But I understand how yo Fix'in to be upset about your Southern charm and dignity being questioned by an Arkansas Boy.. LOL!
Billy did fix it....
Only our Cajun buddies live below I-10

One that has a timeslip with a W on the bottom that is fast enough to win a heads-up run but slow enough to qualify for HP welfare at the end of the season!!!
Perfect Pass!
