Hemicop, IHRA Fords use a Boss 429 style head which is nothing like the new head being developed. In case you haven't noticed NHRA cars are 500 CI, IHRA cars are 815 CI, the only thing similar would the name on the valve covers.

Simple --- shrink the specs of the old Boss or the old "465" (?) head, use the new Nascar block. The point I was trying to make is that with the new Nascar motor, which according to Hot Rod Magizine is already developed, all that's left is to develop a top-end which Ford has plenty of experience in P/S with both Hemi-type & wedge heads. I KNOW you couldn't simply do an R&R for the top-end of an IHRA motor. AGAIN, the point is, alot of the technolgy is already out there so they're not really developing a "new" motor

I agree with everything you said. I just hate as a Mopar guy to lose Larry.

You are no longer a MOPAR man. You are now a Fiat man. I think the whole pro stock playing field is about to change. Let's see what happens without GM and Chrysler corporate cash. How many racers can compete on their own dime. I will be surprised if Fiat has any interest in PRO STOCK and Government Motors will have it's own set of problems for racing. JMO.

There is a NEW engine design on the board!!!!!!!
Brian Wolfe's and Mose Nowland's titles are basically a matter of semantics, and are not important in the overall scheme of things. I was incorrect concerning the new engine design; other than that, what I posted was much closer to the truth than most of the other stuff that I read on this thread. Judging by your username, you are a Ford fan, I have been a diehard Ford fan since 1964; we are on the same side.

True. Guess Ford will once again be competitive in PS.

Ford Racing is having a get together for all racers this weekend at Joliet. They are supposed to talk about the New Pro Stock engine, so maybe everyone that is just speculating on what is involved, will be able to find out some real information. For more information check out the sticky at the top of the Stock and Super Stock Forum page.
