8.5 x 20 ' Enclosed Trailer Question
Is there a down side of buying this size trailer ??
If it comes with 7,000 lb axles should that be all you need for the size of the trailer ??? Most of my races are within 2- 2.5 hours away. Thx

Re: 8.5 x 20 ' Enclosed Trailer Question
Pete---buy the biggest longest trailer you can afford!!!!!!!!! ----it will never be big enough for all your stuff and when it comes time to sell it you will get more money for it than a shorter one-- YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT---if you go ahead and buy a 20 sometime down the road you'll kick yourself in the *** saying why didnt I get that 24 footer it was only a coupla hundred dollars more!!!--think of building a garage why build a one car when if you build a 1 1/2 car you have just that much more room--- now if you build a 1 1/2 why not build a 2 car doesnt cost a lot more money but there is so much more you can do with it---

Re: 8.5 x 20 ' Enclosed Trailer Question
Unless you have a car under 16', I would give careful consideration to a 24 footer. From personal experience, I can tell you that if you plan to tote more than an air pig to the track, that 20' box fills up in a hurry. Go to a 26 if you have, or plan to acquire, some sort of pit vehicle.....good luck!!

Re: 8.5 x 20 ' Enclosed Trailer Question
I too took the advice of others and stepped up to a 24' box; you would be amazed how quickly it fills up. Regarding the 7000 lb axles, I bet they are 3500 lb each with 5 lug wheels. I recommend the 5000 lb axles with 6 lug wheels. It is too easy to overload one or both axles if they are 3500 or 3700 lb each. Also, with the torsion axles, remember that they should be evenly loaded since they can't distribute the load like leaf spring axles. The torsion axles do ride a lot better.

NO 15 INCH WHEELS
Replacement tires are junk. 16 inch wheels at least. You will not regret the heavier axles.

Re: 8.5 x 20 ' Enclosed Trailer Question
Not knowing you situation on how much room you have to park a trailer or what you have to pull one. Like is always stated " Buy as big as you can afford" You will not be sorry. Just be honest with yourself on what you have to pull it with as well. Get the biggest you can store and afford. Good luck.

Re: 8.5 x 20 ' Enclosed Trailer Question
My original question is: Is 3500lb axles good enough on a 20' trailer.
I'm not worring about putting stuff in the trailer, other than a few items. For the most part what is going in the trailer will be car, tool box, jack & jack stands, fuel jugs. thx for the responses
