Help! The pump and lines were under a factory floor that would cover the original jack and such, the tank was partially under the floor with a hinged lid over the top portion of the tank. If I just put a firewall up will it be legal without the pump and tank covered? If I'm reading the rules correctly it should be ok with tank, pump, filters and lines mounted inside on the floor behind the firewall uncovered.

There are many SS cars with the same tank and pump set up as you propose. So yes, you will be good.

Because you have a Hatchback, the back section needs to be " a separate compartment "

Todd I would immediately call NHRA tech and ask them how to do it. You might tell them your proposal and run it by them see if they will accept it otherwise look at late model firebirds/ camaris/mustangs for ideas on what others have done and is accepted

Yes sir, the plan is to have the firewall approximately where the carpet stops at the floor and go on up to seal at the hatch.

Feel like were back on track and getting a plan today. Laying out the fuel stuff and making bracket templates. Getting a better cooling system plan, a little underhood wiring and trying to figure out my ballast (legally).

I've always run Aeromotive 100 micron pre and 40 micron post filters, catches trash from the tank and if the pump fails doesn't get into the carb or injectors. These filters have 60 square inches of filtering and full flow capabilities of 3000 hp. I've always had good luck with them.
