Default Finally going to Vegas

Well I finally pulled the trigger and got a vacation package to go to Vegas with my wife. We are going June 24 to June 28. Going over to Hoover Dam one of the days. Wanted to ask what restaurant(s) is a can't miss while were there? I found some shows but mama said we ain't going to that (Bite looks like fun) LOL Were staying at the New York New York hotel. Thanks.

The dinner buffet at The Wynn is pretty amazing. Also just for sake of hitting a racer favorite try a Blueberry Hill. There are several in town.

The Wynn is the best buffet I've ever been at. But it is a little pricey. But worth it.
I've heard the buffet at the Luxor is very good, but I haven't got there yet.
If you are going to gamble don't do it on the strip. Go downtown or to one of the locals casinos. Your money will last longer.

Like Art said, get off the strip after you take in all the sights. Then go have fun bouncin' around all the casino's in the old town (I forgot what they call it). You can hit 10 casinos there in the time it takes you to go to two casino's in uptown. And some of the $10 or less steak dinners are more satisfying than a $40+ buffet. At $2, I can eat shrimp cocktails all day long!

Donna and I like "Jerry's Nugget" just north of the downtown area. The prime rib is to die for and reasonable. My best advise for someone going to Las Vegas for the first time is to: take in the strip.....walk through the casinos and pick out a show before you go. Then stick to your plan. The second bit of advise is to go downtown to Binions, and the rest of the downtown casinos....go downtown towards evening so when the sun goes down, you can see the "light show"..... while downtown, if you see a lucky slot or a lucky table....play it, but set a limit...........after doing these 2 things.... I recommend forgetting what everyone has told you to do and set out on your own. Go find that little casino that the locals go to with good food, cheap (free) drinks, and friendly games.....then, the next time someone wants advise for Las Vegas, you can give it...... Set out on your own and find your own thing......most everywhere in Vegas is safe around the casinos. What I have found out is that if "I was told to go here and told to go there", pretty soon, I am wasting a vacation doing what someone else told me to do....Have fun is the most important part (and set a gambling limit).....you can watch a lot of interesting people while sitting and playing $.05 slots.....

When you go to Hoover Dam, Stop at the "Coffee Cup" in Boulder City (Couple Miles from Dam). My older boy Robbie (H/SA Roadrunner) cooks there and there are a lot of racing and local color pictures around the place and a very retro feel to it.

It has been featured on the Food Channel and has a Old School Menu that will
not disappoint you!
