Approved fuel for low compression stocker
What would the best approved fuel be for a 9.5:1 dish piston 305 2bbl?

Re: Approved fuel for low compression stocker
Most popular fuel is probably C11 in stock across the boards. That or c12.

The Sunoco 260gtx is an unleaded fuel, similar to VP C-10, easier on the A/F wideband sensors esp for the late model and dual duty street/strip use cars, although most guys on here will use the leaded fuels (C-11, C12) etc. to extend valve train life and achieve higher octane ratings. Another issue is availability, a racers preferred fuel may not be sold at certain tracks... Thanks to MG raceway for posting this chart.. http://www.maplegroveraceway.com/wp-...-reference.pdf

I can find it and less expensive than C10. RKelliher said that running C11 works better than C12. How does is work that one Octane Fuel works better than another? Dan |

Re: Approved fuel for low compression stocker
Consistently, on a dyno, my engine makes 1% more HP with C11,
compared to VP110 or Sunoco Standard. Terry K |

Re: Approved fuel for low compression stocker
We also are faster with C11 than C12 in back to back testing
in our low compression Stockers!

Re: Approved fuel for low compression stocker
C-11 was designed especially for low compression stock and super stock applications. Its not always readily available so you have to plan ahead and get that fuel ahead of time. C-12 is much more readily available and a bit cheaper. Not as fast in the low compression engines as the C-11 but runs very well. To get full advantage of the C-11 it takes a jet change as I remember. I run C-12 in my super stocker
