Default MASGA & MASCA close out season's at Atco this weekend!

Well after a long, hard-fought season it all comes down to 2 races on September 17th & 18th at Atco Raceway to determine the 2011 MASCA & MASGA Champions.

Right now over in the 8.90 class Tommy Boyle is leading the pack with a 304 point lead over 2010 Champ Jeff Livezey Jr. Both drivers will be looking to improve upon a couple of 1st round defeats that they received earlier in the season. Dave Long sits in 3rd place with his “Long Family Racing” Dragster and in 4th is Joey Cambria. Cambria has only claimed 3 races this season and is looking to add to his total by just entering both races at Atco. Last but, not least is Bill Hardifer and his Huber & Hardifer dragster. Knocking on the door to get into the “Top 5” will be Frank Lauria Sr & Kathy Smulligan.

The 9.90 Class is looking to be a 12 round knock down drag out fight between Tom Goldman, Pete Luciano & Earl Nichols Jr. All 3 drivers are separated by 32 points with Goldman having a 2 round lead over Luciano. Sitting in 4th place is George Smith and right behind him is Maple Grove Lucas Oil Divisional winner Shawn Harp. Looking to beak into the top 5 at Atco will be Lance Krieger & Darlene Staub. Race # 7 that was rained out after the 2nd round in August maybe completed on Saturday but, only if all the racers are able to show back up for the event.

On Friday Night the gates will be open at 4pm to get in (Weather permitting). There maybe a small entrance fee ($10 or 15 bucks) to be paid at the gate since they have street night going on. On Saturday, September 17th the gates will open at 8am and on Sunday September 18th gates will open at 9am. Entry for both days will be $30.00 paid at the gate plus any crew members which will be $15.00.

For Super Gas the entry fee to race will be $70.00 per day paid to Leanne or Lucky at their trailer. For the Super Comp Guys it will be $65.00 per day to be paid to Rob Keister at his trailer. We will be on running with Dave Ley’s Stock/Super Stock program on Sunday along with the EC Gassers. Saturday there is also the option to bracket race as there will be a non-points “bracket finals” warm-up & king of the track race for anyone who wants to pay the extra cash and race with them. If at all possible we would like all the racers to park over on the “New Tower” Side of the track, which is the left side of the track (Normally where TAD/TAFC park for the D1 events). It makes it a lot easier for us to pair cars up and run things a lot smoother.

Hope to see a great turn-out...weather looks to be nice and cool as you may have to break out the sweatshirts this weekend with highs in the upper 60's & low 70's. Should make a nice test session for anyone entered for the Keystones!
