Re: Another bogus new car in the guide!
The 350 COPO is not legal for normal stock eliminator classes. This is. This LS3 Camaro will weigh 135 lb less than an LS1 Camaro in B/SA. Compare the specs of those 2 engines, it's not even close. B/SA is the most populated class in stock eliminator, aka lots of heads ups.

Re: Another bogus new car in the guide!
170 lb heavier than a Corvette, 30 cubic inches bigger with heads in a different league among other differences. Same story, different magnitude.

Like I said - it's drag racing .........And you could save money doing it yourself but we'd see it at Indy 2017.

Re: Another bogus new car in the guide!
Like when our local government "floats" an abstract idea about widening a 2 lane road to 5 lanes and suddenly at the next meeting we discover a huge store with tax breaks is coming in at the intersection. But they knew nothing about the road widening?? ;-D

Re: Another bogus new car in the guide!
The way to go with a body in white build is junk yard ,they must be coming in at a good rate,as far as body interior wiring and the rest, but motor is gona cost and rear end, cant see the factory setup lasting ,or a aftermarket piece is legal, get your wallet out

A guy buys a body in white after the 2009 PRI Show when it is not guaranteed that GM Performance would still exist in 2010 and beyond. The BIW finally showed up in the Fall of 2010. That same guy was told at the 2011 PRI Show that if the COPO did actually get built he was unlikely to be selected for one. So, he went home and started construction on a stocker instead. He then got the call from Chevrolet that he was getting a COPO. The BIW project got put to the side. In 2013 when he was told that he couldn't have a second COPO that guy went back to work on his BIW (And purchased another BIW, but that story is for another time). Guess what, that guy got the call that he could indeed buy a second COPO in 2014. So, the BIW got pushed to the side again. A decent specification was released yesterday. Care to guess what that guy is going to do? |
