Default flowmaster 4-2-1 ?

in the search for more low end from my under powered over weighted car, i am wondering about a set of flowmaster 4 into 2 into 1 collectors.
the original collectors are 8" x 2 3/4 ID. the flowmasters are;
effective length 22", 2" of 1 5/8", 11" of intermediate and 11 1/2" of 2 5/8".
my current RPM range is 5200-7000. cam is 240/250 @ 50
thoughts?
thanks rod

Tested the Flowmasters and found a little more low end torque and a HP loss on a 427 cu in BBC. The torque increase was way out of my operating range, so no gain for me.

I'll bet there are more of those collectors under benches or hanging on wall, than are still on cars! ....mine included. .......Tom

They worked on my 350 Buick and 400 Pontiac. Both long stroke, low RPM motors.

My thoughts are that your cam is likely too small for your operating range. And collectors won't help you much, if any.

I would like to try a set of 4-2-1 collectors on my stocker, anyone looking to sell a pair for 1 3/4 inch tube headers?

Dave,
I have a pair I made up for Kevin Cradduck's G/S 255/350 Camaro I drove in 2008. They're in Kevin's garage, they actually have a merge I built on them, and they were on a set of Stahl headers. I may be able to get you a picture of them. I can't even remember what I paid for the pieces.

Its in canada but I shipped a set of super comps very far and it was cheap. Hope this helps. I have flowmaster collectors and I love the sound they make. I have never tested them against anything else because this header/collector game for .05 sec gain isnt worth it for me. The collector has nothing to do with the christmas tree.
