Default Big Block in a Fox Mustang??

Anyone put a big block in a Fox Body Mustang?, I have a 577" aluminum headed motor that should make 750hp or better that I want to put in my 90 Mustnag. I was wandering if the extra front end wieght makes the car looser on the top end or dont you feel any differance.

The car is a stock suspention, 12 point caged car, with the small block wieghs in at 2800#, running 28x10.5 M/T's on the rear or sometimes switch to the 325-50-15 DR.

I will be putting a glide in the car with the big block...

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It should not be a issue if the suspension is set up correctly. We put a 460 in my son's 85 Mustang
for SS/T and it handles like a dream. Also go to 460ford.com and you will find ALL the info you are
looking for on the chassis or engine or anything else.

Thanks for the info, I have been on 460.com, and got little to no information there.

How much did you guys do to the 460 to run S/ST?

You might want to contact Mike Graham over on the Stock/Superstock
section of this message board.

He runs a 2000 Cobra Mustang with a 460 motor in SSGT. He lives in AZ.

Or you can PM me and I'll send you his email address.

Thanks a bunch guys, you have been most helpfull.

I have found most of what I need, just need to get the whole thing together now, stinks that I will miss most of this season too, but the car will finally be done and running what I wanted it to from the begining.

I ended up with a 557 cu. A-Headed motor, that I plan on running my glide behind. The car is all "Stock" suspension and should be a blast to drive. "If" everything works out I should be fast enough to try my hand at S/G, should be fun on a 10.5" tire.
