TNT Series reschedules Race #2 to Friday Aug 8th at DTRP
LANCASTER, NEW YORK (June 18, 2008) The afternoon of Friday June 13th at Dunn Tire Raceway Park (DTRP) had the threat of significant thunderstorms – Yet 21 cars showed up to compete in Race #2 of the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series 2008 points chase. After one round of qualifying, Jamie Stoneman sat atop the field with a perfect 7.000 pass! As the cars headed through the water box for round 2 of qualifying, the skies opened up with a torrential downpour. The rainfall was enough that the event was cancelled.
The rain date – originally set for Friday June 27th – has been changed to Friday August 8th. “We did this because of the conflicting NHRA national event at Norwalk the weekend of the 27th,” mentioned Ted Barnes, TNT Series Director. “This would certainly have a negative impact on the car count and potential payout to the racers. And the month of July is already packed with various IHRA Pro Am events in the area and the nationals at Grand Bend Motorplex.” So the event will be re-run in its entirety on Aug 8th. Racers who have already paid for the June 13th race will receive entry to the Aug 8th date at no charge. As for the one completed qualifying session on June 13th - All of the runs from that session will stand and will be added to the Aug 8th qualifying sheets (for those who return on Aug 8th). And any racer who cannot make the Aug 8th event can use their June 13th paid entry fee for either the Sept 5th event or the Oct 3rd event…both at DTRP. For more info www.tntsuperseries.com
