62-67 Chevy II R & P
Anyone have any info on switching out the steering gear for rack n pinion on Deuce Coupe for Super Stock/Modified?

Unless the rules have changed since I ran modified you can not put a R&P steering in place of the original steer box on a nova, camaro, etc.
Only on front wheel drive conversions. |

Was that before the Camaros and Firebirds were allowed to replace their factory steering boxes and linkage with Ford rack & pinions, .in Stock?

I'm not sure when this got 'snuck in' but I think somewhere along the line they started allowing R&P change on Modified Stock and Modified in SS class. Not legal in conventional SS or GT. Don't quote me on this.
