Stories about my dad.
Just joined this site and realize a lot of you knew my father very well. (Scott Helms). I would really like to hear a few stories to help bring joy in the next few days as Monday is his birthday. And all smiles will surely help. I'm working nights so if I do not reply through out the day I apoligize. I hope to get to know some of dads great friends in the future. And maybe someday I can meet some of you on the starting line and in the pits. But until then I'm just gonna get some seat time and do some local bracket racing and car shows. As the babies and bills permit. Anyways I truly hope everyone of you have a great day and god bless.

Re: Stories about my dad.
I first met your dad at an NHRA points race in Bradenton. I don't remember what year but it was at least 20 years ago. He beat me first round and then came over to my trailer and told me to come over to his pit site and have some grilled sausage sandwiches! I took him up on it and the rest is history.I met your uncle Kevo that same year at the Gatornationals as I was pitted next to your dad and Kevin was directly across from us. He was racing the green '69 Camaro way before it was painted red. I met your Grandma Pat at a points race at Orlando about 10 years ago. Glad I did! Wonderful lady. Chris if I can ever help you with anything please just let me know. Jim

Re: Stories about my dad.
Thank you so much Jim. And you still have two wonderful friends in my grandma and uncle kev. As well as ol pops riding along. I can see him jumping from car to car making passes with old friends every weekend. Nothing but a big smile on his face. Hope to hear more stories I know there are a ton of great ones. From over the years.
