Default TNT Hot Rod Super Series wraps up early Friday at DTRP

FORT ERIE, ONTARIO (September 2, 2008) For competitors and fans in the southern Ontario/western New York area who love heads up 10.90 (7.00) sportsman racing, you don’t want to miss this Friday’s event at Dunn Tire Raceway Park (DTRP) in Lancaster, New York. Friday marks the first of four TNT events in only two weeks - so you better bring your game face because racing in the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series is serious business! The 5th of 9 events in the 2008 schedule, Friday is presented by Rosehill Auction House out of Fort Erie, Ontario.

Making ready for the marathon run of Hot Rod races is Jon Jablonski (West Seneca NY). Winner of the most recent TNT event, Jablonski has made huge strides in the points chase. Currently with 194 points, Jablonski is in fifth place - 110 behind Ted Barnes (Canfield ON) who leads the chase with 304 points. But the difference is that Jablonski has only run two races so far in 2008 and Barnes has run all four. See, the 2008 TNT points system captures a driver’s ‘best’ 3 Canadian events and adds their ‘best’ 3 American events – for a total of 6 – out of a possible 9 events in 2008. So while Barnes may appear to have a sizeable lead, unfortunately for him, looks can be deceiving.

“Friday’s race is critical in the points standings. The following week we have three races in one weekend. You want to go into that with strong momentum and a good position in the points,” said Dave Surmatchewski (Oakland ON) – currently third with 246 points.

Rounding out the top five are Jamie Stoneman (Cheektowaga NY) in second place with 270 points and Bill Elekes (West Seneca NY) who sits fourth with 221 points.

The folks at TNT are excited to have Rosehill Auction House present Friday’s event. Joe Passero and his wife Moe from Rosehill Auction are long-time racers. “The TNT Series is something this area has needed for a long time. They put together a really good deal here,” commented Joe. “And with the cost of fuel these days, it’s great to have a local option.” Joe and Moe have competed in the TNT Series each year since its inception.

Rosehill Auction House is celebrating their 40th Year as Southern Ontario's Leading Discount Giant. Rosehill Auction sells "as is" style products at extremely low prices – 50% off or more than retail. They are committed to selling brand named home furnishings and so much more at truly discounted prices. Visit them at www.rosehillauction.ca and see why Rosehill has some of the best deals in Ontario.

The Sep 5th TNT event guarantees a minimum of $500 to win, rewards #1 qualifier with a $50 Hoosier Canada certificate and counts for points towards the lucrative TNT yearend awards.

Gates open at 3pm. TNT qualifying at 5pm (7.00 index) with eliminations at 7pm. Visit www.dunntireracewaypark.com for more details.
