Default Virginia Nats, only a 2 day event for the pros?

In the dragster I read that the National event at Virginia in late June will only be a 2 day event for the pros. Saturday and Sunday. Anyone else very concerned over this?

Kp

Typo? Isn't it June 21, 22, 23?

Correct, Saturday and Sunday for the Pros. We can speculate all we want, but the only people who really know the story here are the track owners and the NHRA.

Yup sportsman will still run on Friday and Pros will only run Sat / Sun with them getting 3 qualifiers on Saturday. I did see that Q3 will be under the lights per an interview with GM Tyler. I think this is a test for future events, shorter time, less payroll and instead of try to jam the stands for 3-4 days your doing 2 days. I would not be surprised if weather becomes a factor sportsman have at least R1 on Friday Afternoon/ Night.

I believe I saw round 1 of Sportsman already on the schedule (without any weather problems) for Friday afternoon/night.

Yes I am actually seeing that now that looks like R1 will be Friday which I know most don’t like but I’m okay with it, the two TT should give you enough data for R1.

I love it, I wish we always got 1st round on Friday so I could hurry up and take it in the rear end and head somewhere else for the rest of the weekend. Worked out for me at Charlotte this year
