Todd , that was funny .... the reason I did it was I just to lazy to figure out what I needed..... Not because they are stainless .....hahaha

So, I don't know how ya'll do carpet around these bars but the last one I did was a butcher job, I wasn't happy with it so I knew I had to come up with something. now I'm pretty sure a sharp edge and nailing it with a hammer would do... but I like fire. My pipe could have been sharper but I heat it with a torch and shoved it right through the carpet, nice thing about this is, it's cauterized so it won't fray. Just a bit more to do and the carpet's done. I bought a carpet set plus 2yd of 80/20 for the rear section.
(First photo I didn't have the pipe hot enough on the first shot of my test pass, second one went right through).

Hey...slick tip on the hot pipe. I've sharpened a frost plug and used a hammer but always had the fuzzies.

It worked beautifully, just wrap the pipe in a rag as it gets hot. I think I'll wrap 6" of it with some left over exhaust wrap.
