Need Help getting a block moved
Long story, looks like my 440 block might need to get from Southern Utah to Florida as it will be reunited with its mate, a 440 Sixpack Superbird.
Anyone know of someone going through Utah to Florida? I know it's a long shot but worth asking. Eric

I would call your local Fastenal...they're pretty cheap for anything that can be strapped to a pallet.

Re: Need Help getting a block moved
I'm going from Florida to Pennsylvania to Florida the end of this week and have room, so if someone could get it to Pennsylvania by Friday I can take it to Florida from there.

That's the second time I've heard that of Fastenal. I guess I'm gonna have to look into that someday!

Re: Need Help getting a block moved
I have done this Fastenal shipping. All items have to be on a pallet. They only insure items inside a crate. I wouldn't ship anything just set on an open pallet uncovered. You need to know the city and zip code of the stores for pickup and drop off. Everything is done from store to store, no delivery to your address.
Figure out the size and weight, Go online to https://www.fastenal.com/en/22/third...logistics-(3pl) Enter in your info online, then they get back to you with a quote in 24hours. The guy at the local store about ran me off when I suggested that Fastenal haul my 3rd party freight. "We have no way of insuring your freight or charging you for this, you heard wrong." nobody ever shipped out of this store before and had no idea how to do this, the quote you get is the price, no tax added, they wanted to add tax. |

Will be heading through Utah in a couple of weeks, but won't be back to Savannah till late September. If this timeline works PM me, should have room in the MH basement for a block.

I had one experience shipping with Fastenal and it was excellent. Ryan Haag is on this site and he can answer any questions.I believe he manages a store in Indiana.

Talk to Mark Kirby, I believe he is still in the transport business.
I had a few engine blocks transported thru Mark. The price was great and very fast. |

Re: Need Help getting a block moved
Fastenal delivered a crate across the USA in 6 days for $175, 2' X 3' crate 20" tall. 160 lbs. No damage. Seemed like a fine deal to me.
