"Live From" D1 Numidia Dragway LODRS
Hello all,
The last time we had a division race at Numidia was 2004. Bobby DiMino bought Numidia back in 2006 I believe, and from what I here from the local racers, Bobby puts a on great weekly program. I did some web work back in the day for Bobby, and I can tell you he is a class act, and he treats the racers accordingly. Oh, and they also have a great concession stand, the food is awesome. I like many others are happy to be back at Numidia, and as you can see from the photos its a very scenic track. Its not a fast track but it is a nice place to race. We will have a test session tomorrow starting out 12. D1-TV live feed brought to you by Micro Strategies will be here this weekend. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZ-...EnL3XOtn8ZYdgg On a sad note, Allen George passed away this morning. I was just talking to him on Saturday just before round 2 of Stock at the Virginia Nationals. He was such a nice man, very polite and he loved racing. Some may not have known him, but he has been racing for decades. He drove a Supercharged COPO. He told me he liked running the Factory Stock Showdown when he could, and was working to make the car more competitive. We had a Factory Stock Showdown race at the Atco Open and I was glad he got the win. I believe he was 78. Last photo is of Allen George at the Virginia Nationals. |

Thanks for the info on Allen George. I am sorry that he's no longer with us. I met him only once in Div. 1 and he seemed like a really nice guy. I was impressed that he not only was still racing but in one of the fastest stock cars, a new COPO! My hat's off to him.

Re: "Live From" D1 Numidia Raceway LODRS
Love Numidia and glad to see Bob get a Divisional back. Love that track and have a good history with putting together a few big $$ .90 races up there. I hope to see a lot of racers come out and support the track but, I know it was always a struggle to get people to get up there because of the tough tow. I know when they used to have the D1 race there it used to drawl a lot of cars and a lot of D3 cars would use it as their out of Divisional Race. I know some people are mad because it's on top of Bristol but, so was the E-Town D1 race so I think we should be thanking Dave & D1 and the SRCA Reps who hooked it up to get a replacement for E_town instead of just going down to 6 races. See everyone tomorrow sometime.

I love the ride up to Numidia, well at least on my bike.
This is one of my favorite pics taken from one of the "Combo In The Hills" a number of years ago.

so tired of hearing the tough tow excuse.
it's the year 2018, buy a diesel pickup, toter or MH and stop with the excuses. |

Keep in mind that not everybody can afford a modern toter, MH or high powered tow vehicle. I personally towed with a '94 Chevy dually for 15 years. It did a good job most of the time, but it's 454 TBI was a dog in the hills and I wouldn't even attempted to pull my rig up mountainous areas, but it was what I could afford at the time. I was fortunate enough to recently replace it with a Chevy Duramax dually that could take me to the Mile Highs if I had the inclination. Sorry for going off of the subject.
