NHRA 1/8th Mile Division Championship Series
Well, we made it public at the NHRA Southeast Banquet a few hours ago. New for 2018, there’s an 1/8th Mile Division Championship Series at Atlanta, Rockingham, Carolina House Of Hook, Piedmont Dragway, Orangeburg, and Mooresville Dragway. Grade points. Wally Trophies. Division Championship title and invitation to the banquet at Jekyll Island. Crate Motor cars have a home. Familiar faces on the tech crew. Great race tracks! More positive news to come. Welcome to Division 2. #myracingfamily. #nhra

Re: NHRA 1/8th Mile Division Championship Series
Any idea what kind of program it's going to be? 2-3 index classes plus stock and super stock? Knew Carolina was coming over to NHRA, with Orangeburg in mix as well it should make for a lot of close races for the abandoned IHRA class racers. Seems like Galot would fit better than Atlanta if that's the intent, and the first recognition by NHRA for IHRA crate motor specs??

Re: NHRA 1/8th Mile Division Championship Series
WOW...if this is so...as we "see" it...based in Mooresville,N.C...this INDEED just what the doctor ordered !!!...with IHRA departure...this fills the void & more...combining that with a nice compliment of Carolina Class Racers Association events scheduled...2018...looking good for area Stock/SuperStock...racers...old adage...just when things look the "darkest"...lol...just around corner...good things can/do happen !!!... imagine that- Drake p.s. IF only Rich had ever responded to our request for NHRA Division 2 permanent numbers..we'd have in place...unfortunately he NEVER did...so we'll have our Division 1#'s in place...lol...nothing...nobodies "purr-fect" 'eh...

Re: NHRA 1/8th Mile Division Championship Series
Bobby, like the Facebook D2 page in order to get the latest, seems to be how the plan is flushed out for the time being. Assume since they're letting crate motor cars run to the IHRA specs and indexes they would also let pure stockers do likewise. Wouldn't be surprised if they get a bunch of cars if the purse seems reasonable.

The prudent assimilation begins and in a most innocuous way.
Ascribing the newest competitors to a less than desired format is an equitable and effective entry strategy. The competitive limitation will soon erode and be allowed to reach its full and complete 220 fathoms. Well done indeed. |

Re: NHRA 1/8th Mile Division Championship Series
It would be real nice to have one in the southern part of the division. Maybe Gainesville or SGMP in the fall after the 1/4 mile races are done for the year. That's when the weather is best here for racing. Late November or early December is usuall nice and cool. It's a good start for other opportunities to race our style of racing.
