I can barely afford to run my own car without hitting anybody but if I did and it was my fault I would not race again until his car was fixed and back on the track and if he lived close enough to me I would go by his house and help him work on it. Really hoping that never happens. Knocking on wood. I think when that happens more often than not somebody should have aborted the run before the cars got together. Countless wreck videos on you tube where guys are in the gas way way longer than they should be.

If i caused a crash that damaged someone elses car, I would not feel right if I did'nt take care of it. I just hope if ever in that spot that they are reasonable people and will be easy to work with.

Some guys have that "never lift" mentality. Alot of that going on over in the NMCA, NMRA, etc.

^^ I had to laugh a little when I read that.

I'm sure we have all seen this guy:

He is a heads up racer.
He is making a test-n-tune run.
He takes off, then gets squirmy, then gets back in and out of the throttle all the while sliding all over the track, while keeping his foot into it to the finish line.

What kind of data does that provide ?

None whatsoever, but be advised these guys will do anything to win on race day. I was in NMCA at Bowling Green in '98 when an Outlaw racer went airborne in the left lane, passed over the top of a '69 Camaro in the right lane upside down, hit the timing board for the right lane and then the retaining wall. Death was instantaneous as it decapitated him upon impact on top of the wall. I was standing on the edge of the track even where he went airborne at nearly 200mph and was a sight I have never forgotten.

I refer y'all to this video on you tube. 55 Chevy lucky to be alive is the title. Don't know how to put the link up. The ****er shifted w his foot to the floor and half his car was in the other lane. The car was destroyed and if you look close the sumbitch is thrown smooth out of that piece of ****. Should have lifted a good 5 seconds before the car even got near the centerline.

The man raced a Pro Street 70-71 Camaro correct? If so I did not here what you described. All I heard was he hit the wall head on and rolled...Sad

When the local "10.5 shoot out" heads up cars get out of shape, even a time trial/qualifying pass and gets all crossed up (they never lift, just sometimes wreck) the announcer and guys watching go on & on about the great driving job of saving it. Real bright.

If running 1/8 they data for 3/16mile if running 1/4 they get data for 3/8 mi.

The guy @ Bowling Green was in 70-72 body style Camaro, his name was Craig Mc Callum, he was from NC?, my friend was just feet from car when stopped,he will never forget what he saw ,it was bad deal. He said car hit drivers side fender first while airborne where wall ended and guardrail started then sent through scoreboard post which are probaly 8-10 '' I beams standing vertical. When stopped all left of was one bar of main hoop on driver side,lenco went through fence and windshield of a parked S-10.

Bowling Green now has concrete walls all the way down track now.
