Default Chick Ross Update

In a test session Thursday @ Atco, Chick Ross was in an accident at the top end. He was taken to hospital immediately. He is now at the burn unit at Crozer-Chester Medical Centre near Philly.

Chick has 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his face and throat, 3rd degree burns to his right arm and leg, and 1st degree burns to his left arm and leg. He is heavily sedated at this time. He is expected to be there for at least a month.

Chick was indeed talking in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. He was also talking to the doctors when he was brought in. They now have the tube down his airway to allow him to breath without pain. He has started with the skin grafting on his face today.

Please keep Chick in your prayers.

There is a correction to the Hospital, it is the Crozer-Chester Medical Centre.
Sorry about that. He is however in the burn unit so therefore there are no flowers allowed.

Chick has been in our prayers all weekend and will be until he is fine...Get better Chick!!!

Makes you wonder about the safety of this sport...We try everything to be on top of the safety curve and buy the best equipment...But still bad things happen....Makes you second guess what we are doing!!!!

Wish you a safe recovery Chick.

Chick is doing well. He came through the skin grafting surgery with flying colours. The doctors are pleased with his progress this far.

There is a long way to go but things are looking good. Chick is a fighter and he still needs your prayers.

This is a terrible thing to happen to anyone. I don't know him, but I will be wishing him well! Does anyone know what happened? Did his firebottle not work? Just want to make sure there isn't something I need to be looking at on my car.

Long story short, a big gust of wind caught the parachute when it came out after a 7.3 ,191 MPH run and turned the car head first into the wall knocking him out and ripping a fuel line off that caused the fire. There was absolutely nothing he could do about it. The safety team at Atco was great getting to the car in a hurry and putting the fire out, though, so we can be talking about Chick's recovery and not something worse.

Get well soon, Chick. We're pulling for you.

Mike, are you making a case for us to start using the Hans device ? Is there a thought that the impact knocked him out from hitting his head or from just the shock/car impact ?
This is kinda scary, as I didnt know he was knocked out, and I'd hate to have that heppen to me and suffer some injuries cause I was out cold...I had heard that he was kinda trapped in the car against the wall, and this is different....

By the way, nice job this past weekend, and I'm thinking that you like those extra suds from Dad....
