^^ I concur on the 1988.

I can't see that dual plug head and intake on the '92 making that much more power than the '88.
28 factored h.p. is a bunch when referring to naturally aspirated 4 cylinders.

The 2.3 without a hair dryer attached will need some high rpm to injest more air.
