Mopars Little A Body Terrors...
Lets talk about Mopars little terrors, the 340 Duster, 340 Demon, 340/360 Dart Sport or the early 340/383/440 Dart & Barracudas, or any other small block or big block cars that they built around the A Body models...go ahead and post any photos or stories that you might have on anything from personal rides or race cars, to factory team cars...

Ed Hamburger's 340 Duster was a popular car back in the day...

Don't know why....just liked the Demon/Dart better.
Just a few styling differences I suppose. |

Re: Mopars Little A Body Terrors...
I used to buy a fair amount from Ed Hamburger when he owned For 340s and 360s Only. Later he sold it to two knuckleheads that didn't know how to run a business. I never did get some of my parts from those boneheads.
I don't have any photos of the D-Darts, and I never saw one in real life. But, Ted Spehar told me a funny story of one he ran before the Missile days. He made some fiberglass brake drums for it to take some weight out of it. Good thing it was a relatively a slow car with no brakes, or minimal ones at that. LOL!

Charlie, almost forgot about the Swinger models that replaced the Dart GT & GTS models...and the 340 Demons always looked good in any color.

Re: Mopars Little A Body Terrors...
We used to buy parts from Ed Hamburger quite a bit. I was getting stuff from him when I was still in high school in the very late 70's for my first car which was a 72 Duster with a 318. Later when I built my 340 69 Barracuda it had a lot of Hamburger's parts along with a lot from Herb McCandless as well.
I still have a set of Hamburger's "stocker" leaf springs that was on the Duster mentioned above, they may go on my 440 Demon when I put it back on the street.

Re: Mopars Little A Body Terrors...
I worked with Ed for several years. Testing Cams, Torque Converters and building the TQ Carbs for the race cars. I raced a '71 Demon 340 (called "Demonstration") for many years in H/SA and then SS/KA. I ordered the car from the factory and still own the car. To this day it has only 15,003 miles on the original odometer. It has been sitting on jacks in the shop for about 24 years. Jim
