Remember that they gave them back some on their index because they couldn’t even qualify at Indy. And yes, they can sometimes put together some good runs but putting a string of them together is another story

Editing my earlier post, the old 9.30 index was raised in two .15 increments with the latest .15 based on competitors request during the last review cycle.

I wish they would give me .3 back so I could qualify at Indy. LOL.

Actually most of the original super stock classes need some help on the indexes or HP ratings to make them more competitive

I was one of the people asking for index back on hemi cars. not that it means squat to me. But I think that the fastest hemi car at indy was 97 I believe. when index s were hit with 3 tenths, the index was hit 15 the week before at mission in mineshaft then we got the 3 tenths added. so we actually got hit 45. I asked for 15 and nhra gave us 30 because they are clueless and had our index listed at 9.45 to 9.60, when everyone but nhra knows it is 9:30. I hope this helps Brian. I went through nhra hoops for this.

In my case I had to run Mike Cotton in his Cuda for SS/IA at the baby gateors last weekend. His car has a 383 combo at 300 HP. My car is a 327 combo at 295 HP. That just doesn't sound right to me. That's 56 cubic inches difference at only 50 lbs weight difference. Most SS cars are making at least 1.75 HP/ Cu In. That would equate to about 100 HP difference between the two engines.
Isn’t it great Mike......

Mike I usually let things slide but I have to respond to this one.

Yes my combo looks pretty good until you take it to Indy or look at Nitro Joes stats for ss/ja.
Maybe you should aim your complaints at the top car's in the class.

In addition you shared with me how much $ you have in your engine. I have more than that in the valve train of mine. I have spent 12 years testing, waisting money and time perfecting this combo.

For you to imply the reason your car can't run with mine is because I'm underfactored is not only insulting it's just dead wrong.
