My first race car had slicks I bought at J.C. Penny. Do you remember when they had speed parts?

I just ordered one (soft cover-used) off Amazon.com for $7.49 total.There's a hard cover book available for,get this,$90 +shipping.
I also ordered the Mickey Thompson book last week.
I guess I have enough reading material this year to soften the blow of staying away this year.:>)

Wow! Don't think I ever paid $90.00 for a book, and we have a library full.

Yep.....I had J.C. Penny 2 grove 7 inch slicks on my 426 street wedge Plymouth in 1965. I drove them on the street and I was "Glued" at the track back before they did anything except sweep the starting line at Capitol and Aquasco in Md. Of course hi stall torque converters had yet to be invented. I bought my M/T headers thru Penny's also.
