Default Keeping heat in oil??

Any tips or tricks for keeping heat in the oil? After installing a temp sensor in the oil pan I was pretty surprised to see how much oil temperature dropped as I cooled the coolant down between rounds. I have a stick on pan heater but have only used it before making any passes to warm up the oil.

You can chill the water and heat the oil all you want, by the time you're staged they are both going to be approaching 100°F.

Why not just run a lighter oil? That will duplicate your cSt rating without having to heat the oil at all.

I use my pan heater in cooler temperatures. I do it more for consistency than performance. Racing is so tight now that a hundredth can make the difference between win and loss. During the summer here in D2 the oil stays pretty warm between runs.
