3.2A/15 Firesuits
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned it (maybe they have and I missed it), BUT 2008 rules say that any car faster than 7.49 using alcohol or nitrous MUST have a 3.2A/15 firesuit!!!! That's a $1200 custom made only item, so if you run alky and faster than 7.49 better get one ordered right away. There could be a huge backlog if you wait to spring. Original rule called for -15 boots and gloves as well, but that has been changed to -5 gloves and shoes. Merry Christmas!

Al, I read it the same way for advanced ET door cars with nitrous or alky. My question is: does this rule apply to Top Sportsman cars that may not run as fast as 7.49.

Re: 3.2A/15 Firesuits
I would like to know how it is any safer for a car running 7.40 with c16 then a car running 7.40 with alky or for that matter a car running 7.49 at 185mph needs the suit but a SC running 8.90 @ 183 dont somethings that make you go HMMMM

Re: 3.2A/15 Firesuits
I agree, but they have to draw a line somewhere or make everybody wear a -15 suit. I went ahead last year and bought a -15 suit and we run gas so it is not required, but the way I see it if you are upside down in a puddle of burning gas or alcohol, it really doesn't matter how fast the car was before the crash. Since so many people will now require -15 suits, I expect (or hope) they will soon be available "off the rack" in std sizes (just like -5 suits) and this will make them much cheaper. For what it is worth, my -15 suit is very comfortable and does not restrict movement or anything - it just makes me a lot safer if I ever have a bad fire.

Re: 3.2A/15 Firesuits
I must have missed something, why is everyone thinking this is a new rule requring a 15 suit, look at page 27 of the 2006 rule book " Rear-engine car equipped with nitrous oxide or turbocharged or supercharged: Jacket and pants meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/15, gloves and boots or shoes meeting SFI spec 3.3/5"
