Grade Point ?
Can you preregister for a divisional event?
If I'm pre-registered and payed in full, but can't make it to the divisional event for one reason or another, will I still receive my grade point? Thanks

You should have to be tecked in, but I think different divs have different rules.

Mannynen,
I have never heard of preregistering for a Divisional race in ANY division. In order to geta grade point you must at least tech a car in at the race. Thbis rule was implimented in order to prevent racers from "buying" a grade point. Jim Wahl 6 Time National record Holder 2239 BF/S I miss Buster Couch also! 'cause Div.2 will always be "Buster's Rebels"

The alcohol dragsters and funny cars can preregister to get free admission. And be used in advertising for the race....But I believe others enter when they get there and must make a qualifying pass too get any points. You gotta be on the qualifying list.

You only need to tech in. A driver receives 10 points and one grade.

You're right....from page 250 of the 2007 NHRA rule book.
"All remaining event non-qualifiers or "no-shows" in eliminations will automatically recieve 10 points.A minimum of 10 points will be awarded to all contestants upon completion of event tech inspection and registration." So you don't have to make a run ! Tech in a rental car,get the points and go home ! :-) |

Approved helmet required to pass tech . Also a driveshaft safety loop is required on all RWD cars.
