Street 427 Ford question

I've got a 427 Ford in a Cobra replica I built a long time ago. Originally it was a 2-4bbl low riser. A while back I put on Edelbrock medium riser aluminum heads and a single 4 intake. Now I am thinking of going back to the 2-4bbl but keeping the heads.
I have heard that the step between the low riser intake and the medium riser heads will not be a big deal. Is this the case or am I asking for drivability issues?

Sounds like the old 351c 4bbl intake on 2bbl heads deal of the 70's.

I believe that the Edelbrock FE heads had a MR ports design, but if you take a intake gasket like you are running now and lay it on the heads with the bolt holes aligned it will tell you what you need to do. Worse case is port matching your intake manifold to the heads or vise versa.
