Live from Numidia-NHRA PC RichardsNatOpen
After an easy three hour drive I got within 5 miles of the track and you guessed it -- thats right -- after a few weeks off and my shoes finally dried out -- bang -- big lightning and thundershowers .Seems to follow racers around this year--- matter where we go in D1 it has to rain .Soon it will be Fall and we will have had no Summer at all to speak of .
Anyway its better to be here in the rain than at work . Tomorrow its to be very nice here in the Pocono Mountains and we should get this in OK .What I'm really surprised about is the amount of cars here -- don't know how many yet but the place is full -- some are the Friday night crowd but there are plenty of NHRA regulars pitted . If the show gets completed on time Saturday then Sunday a Stock / SuperStock program will be run -- a double header of sorts if you will .Great deal for us . I'll try and get you some headlines and maybe a picture or two .......later . PS - This weekend the NHRA crew here will be a little shorthanded as our Stock / SS guru Dave Ley is on the mend from recent surgery -- spoke with him and already he has 'cabin' fever but is doing well and will be back in action in a few weeks -- we miss you Dave -- get well buddy ! ! And be sure to mind Nurse Gloria ..........

Its been raining on and off all night -- the first pic is an all too familiar shot this season -- the second -- well you be the judge -- they were locals and you could tell ................

...probably some local carpenters that are building a house just down the street and grabbed the 2x4's from the jobsite to construct their tower. "MORE BEER"..... WJ

Thanks for the update Jack and as usual always a great job. I'll have to watch this one from the sidelines here at home but wishing I was there. I was hoping to feel well enough to make the trip just to see everyone but it's just too soon after surgery. Nurse Gloria is doing her usual fantastic job and says hello.

Well you can tell in a second that those are northern rednecks. No self respecting southern redneck would EVER put a railings on his platform. Railings are for WIMPS.

Saturday morning is here and what a difference a day makes -- eleven am and the temp is already 82 with the humidity at 52 % and the barometer at a whopping 28.87 not to mention the final DA at 3479 .But the Sun is shining and we got out first time trial in - not bad considering -- track was pretty good and not many complained .
Don't have a car count yet but it looks a like a pretty nice field all things considered ......

Re: Live from Numidia-NHRA PC RichardsNatOpen
Time trial # 2 went off without hitch and everyone is smiling -- looks like about forty stockers - can't get that confirmed -- S/S count is very low - don't understand that .
This area is very pretty if you're into it and today's a picture perfect example ........ PS-- the picture in the middle shows the # 1 qualifier-- AA/SA 2010 Firebird ( LS7 Powered ) on its maiden voyage . OK - so I forgot to take my meds this morning but I can dream can't I ?
