Default MASGA & MASCA close out their 2012 season at Atco

The Mid Atlantic Super Gas & Super Comp Associations are set to finish off their 2012 season in grand fashion at Atco Raceway on September 29th & 30th. Both series have seen close & great racing all year long and the points championships are guaranteed to go down to the final rounds on Sunday.

For the Super Gas crew 2011 MASGA Champion Tom Goldman is looking to make it back to back championship years with his “Bullets to Spare” Corvette. Goldman holds about a 4 round lead over 2nd place Lance Kreiger but, learking in the distance is red-hot George Smith and his “Live Wire” 1968 Camaro. Smith has been on a tear as of late with a victory at Numidia and a runner-up at Cecil County to move him into 3rd place. Rounding out the top 5 is Pete Luciano & Derek Clark.

On the Super Comp side of things Ken Moses has been the lead horse pretty much all year long but, as we enter the final race of the season Moses is finally feeling some stiff competition from last year’s Co-Champion Joey Cambria & Don Butkiewicz. Both drivers still have 1 race left to claim and with a 4th round finish or better can surpass Moses in the Standings. Rounding out the top 5 are recent Atco winner Kevin Scholl and early points leader Tom Dauber.

As always gates will open at 5pm on Friday Night for anyone who wants to get set-up early (Weather permitting). Both MASCA & MASGA will park over on the "New" tower side of the track (Basically where the Alky Cars, Comp, Top Sportsman Cars park for the Divisionals). Gates will open at 9am on both Sat & Sun with time runs beginning around 10am. There will also be a special National Dragster Challenge Wally Day held in conjunction with MASGA & MASCA to give drivers an extra shot at taking home some extra cash that weekend. Also for anyone who is planning on attending the NHRA Uni-Select Auto Parts Nationals at Maple Grove the following weekend this would be a great test & tune. The Fee for both MASGA & MASCA is $70.00 per day to be paid to Lucky Luciano (MASGA) or Rob Keister (MASCA) and $30.00 to be paid at the gate for the track entrance and tech card.
