Default 1970 Camaro Baldwin Motion Clone - NHRA Stocker

1970 Chevrolet Camaro NHRA Stock Eliminator race car (Baldwin Motion Clone). This car has a 402 CID – 375 HP engine that is rated at 400 horsepower coupled to a Metric 200 automatic transmission and a Strange twelve bolt GM rear end housing. NHRA classifies this car as a natural “B” car.

IF YOU ARE CURIOUS AS TO THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS CAR, PLEASE READ BELOW:

This past August 2023 (last time the car was out) , the car was run in Milan, Michigan and the best of three runs was a 10.18 et @ 129.66 mph (which is -.82 under the A/SA index), the weather was just below 3000 feet Density Altitude. The car was entered in A/SA, but I "always" run it heavy (intentionally to slow it down) so as not to trigger the AHFS and also add -.65 to -.85 runs to help the average. At this race, it weighed 3535, which is 165 pounds heavy for A/SA and 35 pounds from minimum B/SA. So, it went 1.07 under the B/SA index being 35 pounds light for the minimum weight for B/SA. Since it was a National Open, and the runs do NOT count for AHFS, I could have either taken the weight out or added the weight, but I chose to leave it as I normally race it and learn from those runs.
