Need help landrum spring and afco DA shock installation
How are you guys modifying the LCA shock hole?
What is the best spring compressor to use? I hear the landrum spring are harder to install then the trick springs and I even struggled a bit getting them in. I appreciate any advice I can get before tackling this job. Thank you |

Re: Need help landrum spring and afco DA shock installation
I use an old inside the spring type compressor that has the 4 hooks that grip the spring to compress it.Remove the pair that are not threaded, unsrew the other pair and slide the threaded rod down thru the shock mounting hole in the subframe.Insert the threaded hook clamp into the coil spring, screw the rod into it and compress the spring with an impact.Simple and safe.
I put a greased up large washer between the nut on the rod and the subframe. AFCO sells inserts you weld onto the control arm after you enlarge the factory shock holes. Last edited by Dana Fitzpatrick; 03-10-2018 at 12:08 PM. |
