Re: Cal tracts
The starting point Calvert recommends is to use the hole that keeps the bar closest to parallel with the ground with the car on the ground and at race weight.

A. Hooks the way you want: good to go, no more adjustment needed. B. Hooks but too much wheelstand: tighten front shocks. C. Hooks but goes left or right: add small preload to direction it goes, until straight. D. Hooks then spins: loosen rear shocks 1-2 clicks, til it stays on the tires. E. Hooks but hits too hard: go to lower hole and repeat A-D. Softest hit: lower hole- no preload Soft hit: lower hole- 1-5 turns preload Hard hit: upper hole- no preload Hardest hit: upper hole- 1-5 turns preload. Hope this helps,, good luck and let us know how it went. The Cal-Tracs is a great system, especially if you use their split springs and shocks. My 2 cents Danny Durham |

Re: Cal tracts
Don't mind me I am having a Senior moment but if I were to put my bar's in the upper hole doesn't that blow the theory about being "parallel with the ground" - just a question from an OLD F_ _ T because I alway's felt that the bar's should be in the upper hole to hit harder but we haven't been out yet to test - Looking forward to a response to help this Old Guy as well -- Thank's In Advance

Re: Cal tracts
I set mine per travis at Calvert..
Lower hole 1/4 turn of preload both sides with driver in car.. My car almost drags the bumper.. Keep in mind if you dont add travel to the front end and have a loose on extension shock on front it wont matter where your bars are set.. |

Re: Cal tracts
Thanks for the feedback I will be testing for the first time this wens day night . I will let you know how it goes . I have a set of drag radials an a pair of slicks I'm concerned about the slicks the have some dry rot cracking in the sidewall . On one side of both tires . Not sure if I trust them . Any comments on that ?

Re: Cal tracts
Thanks your rite bad tires are a waste of time . It's crazy to buy a set of new tires now. We only have a few more test nights left with decent weather . I might be able to borrow a set to try .

Re: Cal tracts
On our car I found juggling the bars from top to bottom had zero effect. Like a buddy of mine said..."aint no magic to be found there".
