The coating on those floats used to fail. I had many QJets through my shop running rich with heavy floats. Floats should not weigh more than six grams.

The 1975 on up are the lighter ones that I have found but I think it's still 6.5? I will check it tomorrow.

Six grams on the scale I had. I found the lightest, too many years ago to remember the number, but I found two numbers that would fit everything I had to work on then. Lightest I could find then were six grams. The coatings used to break down, and they would absorb fuel. I have not touched a carburetor since about 2005. May not be an issue now.
