Talking Re: Original hemi dart information

I was there and saw this wreck. Mancini red lighted , blew the engine and rolled it. Did everything wrong but break out and turn right instead of left in the shut-down area.

The engine didn't blow, the seal came out of the oil pump and started pushing oil. The car was not a factory Hemi car either.

I wasn't familiar with that accident, hope he wasn't injured..... or worse. The car doesn't look repairable either. Sad.

This accident happened at the 1976 NHRA U.S. Nationals. Whatever injuries Ron sustained, if any (outside of being shaken up), were minor to the best of my knowledge.

Its my understanding that it was the Mancini crash that led to the window net rule when a cage is installed.

Correct, M/P. I seem to recall this was an original '69 340 car that Ron converted.
