Default Chapparal Trailers

I am sure some of you have owned a Chapparal trailer in the past. I am looking at one, a 42 ft, and need to know how much it weighs empty. With the car, I know I'd be adding at least 5K to it ready to roll. This one is still is good shape. I always heard they were heavy, but would last a lifetime. Tell me what you know about those.

Thanks guys !
Kenny

Default Re: Chapparal Trailers

it depends on axle type is it wet bearring double spring per axle per side?
or is it grease pack aka lighter axle rattings
the oil bath bearring double spring has another 2/3"? frame lenth of trailer so will be much heave
the grease pack bearring hubs use one spring per axle per side
the heaver oil bath bearring type carry more weight than ya can park in it (lol )
might be heaver to tow but won't bend think they had wider and larger brakes also
hope this helps a little all i know about that type trailler
