Default oil leak

Diff leaking through pinion nut thread,12 bolts chevy, Mark William Yoke ,solid sleeve, Amsoil 75W-90 synthetic .Any idea what going wrong?

Many of the new nuts have a sealer pre-applied to the threads and flange .

Can't be leaking much, as you described. Reapply the pinion nut after loading up with silicone. Or, if you dare, jb weld

Permatex makes an RTV specifically for gear oil. I used it to stop the weeping along the pinion splines.

I thought that everybody put PTV on the inside of the companion flange spline, so that when the flange went onto the pinion any air gaps could be taken up. The extra RTV would be pushed out and end up under the washer and make it a double seal...splines and washer..

Been doing it that way for 50 years with good results..
