the jaz aluminum seat is 11 lbs. with a cover. i can't give you an exact weight difference between the 2. but i will tell you that i will not mount a poly seat in any car i build. the inserts pull out of the bottoms and it's always a pain to mount the back of the seat. you also have to make an access hole, so you don,t crush the seat when you mount the back to the cage. just go with aluminum, leave the poly seats for those 60's style dune buggies.

I'll bet poly burns a lot quicker and has a nice aroma when burning...

Horace,

Back when we all raced around AL at places like Green Valley, Sylacaga..(sp), Huntsville, the Mountain at BIR and the rest I ran a Jaz seat in my '64 Max Wedge and it was such a hassle that I went back to the original bench seat.

Thanks I have poly seats in the car, I was trying to justify whether it's worth goin to alum seats. My seats weigh 17lbs with bracket and seat cover. Thanks
